Hosseini uses imagery to describe how filthy the hospital is especially
for the ones that treated women. Hosseini uses imagery to describe the
setting of the hospital because back then the Taliban were under control
and treated women more like property than people. Most hospitals banned
women from getting treatment due to the Taliban. There were minimal
number of hospitals that can provide treatment for women. With so many
women that are crowded in the hospital to get treatment, there are bound
to be unsanitary places. Hosseini wants the readers to understand that
women were getting mistreated. Women didn't have the same rights as men.
Even when it came to saving lives, men had greater and more sanitized
hospitals to be in.

Your analysis of the quote was very insightful because you also connected the control from the Taliban with how unsanitary the hospital was and the idea that both men and women deserve to have sanitary places because saving lives is important.
